Why Energy Is the Missing Variable in Every Life Pivot
When people are stuck—personally, professionally, relationally—they usually look to change their actions. New job. New plan. New routine. But what often goes overlooked is the real driver behind every decision we make: our energy.
Most of us were never taught to pay attention to it.
Not in school. Not in leadership training. Not in most coaching models.
But the truth is, energy is the context behind every behavior. And if you don’t understand it, you’ll keep trying to fix outcomes without addressing the source.
That’s why I became a Core Energy Coach.
Because behavior without energy awareness is like strategy without culture—it doesn't hold.
What Is “Core Energy,” Really?
Core Energy refers to the internal state you bring to everything you do—how you think, feel, and perceive in any given moment. It’s not your personality. It’s not your mood. It’s the lens you’re operating through when you show up in life.
That lens influences:
Whether you react or respond under pressure
How you interpret setbacks and feedback
What kind of choices you make—and what you believe is possible
In short, your energy shapes your reality.
Why It Matters in a Pivot
Every transition—career, identity, relationship—is fundamentally about change. But most people try to navigate that change using surface-level tactics: new habits, new resumes, new conversations.
None of that sticks if your underlying energy is rooted in fear, doubt, or obligation.
I’ve seen this again and again with clients:
Highly capable professionals who keep hitting the same wall in different jobs
Leaders who can’t understand why their team dynamic keeps breaking down
People who “know what to do” but can’t get themselves to actually do it
They don’t need more information.
They need more awareness of how their energy is driving their decisions.
When we look at the energy underneath the behavior, everything starts to make sense.
Why I Use the Energy Leadership Index (ELI)
The Energy Leadership Index (ELI) is one of the most accurate tools I’ve ever worked with. It’s a research-backed attitudinal assessment that reveals how you show up in both normal circumstances and under stress.
It gives my clients language for what they’ve been feeling—but haven’t been able to name. It helps them see patterns they couldn’t previously articulate. And most importantly, it gives them the leverage to shift.
Because you can’t change what you can’t see.
And when someone sees—for the first time—that they’ve been leading from fear, or approval, or control… they stop beating themselves up.
They start making better choices.

Why I Get Jazzed About This Work
Because once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
You stop trying to hustle your way into clarity.
You stop thinking “maybe I just need more discipline.”
You start realizing: Oh. This isn’t about effort. It’s about access.
Access to a higher version of you—one that leads with intention instead of reactivity.
That’s the power of understanding your energy.
That’s the shift that makes every other shift possible.
If you’re navigating a pivot, don’t just change your plan. Learn how you’re being in the process.
Energy is the root. Everything else is downstream.
